State Bank Sues TV Companies The Northwestern Bank has sued the for mer owners of Channel 45 Television (WJTM) in Winston-Salem for alleged incomplete pay- ment of a loan and to repossess $600,000 of sta tion equipment. In a complaint filed in Forsyth Superior Court, the bank charged the former owners still owe $250,000 on a $300,000 loan made in Au gust 1979. The equipment was pledged as col lateral for the loan, the bank said. The complaint names as defendants the founding company, Good News TV' Network Inc.; its successor, Good News TV Inc.; and Piece Goods Shop Inc., which guaranteed pay ment of the loan. The bank charges that the two Good News companies defaulted on payment of a promisso ry note by failing to make payments, and that they and Piece Goods have refused to pay the note. Channel 45, a UHF station, is now owned primarily by Television Corp. of North Caroli na. The defendants haven’t filed an answer to the suit.
