Middletown News. Researching Grt. Uncle Charley.
Ordinarily, I excerpt the relevant portion of a column, w/enough surrounding material to provide some of the local color. While my topic occupies but a small space, community life (as history) is as interesting today as it was for readers then. So once in a while, I just have to clip an entire column. Note the mention of Hamburg & the Blue Mountains. Never been there, but incidentally & God willing, that's precisely where I expect to be, on business, next week. How about that?!

Girls Get-a-way? Grt. Grandmom Mary & Grt. Aunt Dorothy. Aunt
Assuming that Grt. Uncle Charley had only three wives (not all at the same time), the "Mrs. Charles E. Pyle" so named in the article, is identified, so far, only as 'Dorothy M.,' from his marriage record to Marjorie M. Lakjer (#2), that indicates that she was divorced from him w/cause. To date, no other records have been uncovered. The "M.," possibly a M.I., but may be a clue to her maiden name. Whenever I find snippets regarding grammar or vocabulary, I'll usually, clip or include it. Enjoy.
