Location: Naples, FL; Remote

K12 Field Sales Representatives are responsible for achieving sales territory growth goals by selling NewsBank resources to K12 School Districts, Private Schools, and Urban Districts in their assigned territory. The Field Sales Representative position is a consultative sales role with some travel and can be in the Naples, Florida office or you may work remotely from your home office located in the United States.

Essential Functions:

  • Achieve or exceed individual goals e.g. prospect sales, renewing existing customer subscriptions, and upgrading of existing customers.
  • Generate leads and add new opportunities into your pipeline
  • Move opportunities in your pipeline to a sale
  • Strategize and grow your territory
  • Develop territory and account strategies in collaboration with Sales Management
  • Schedule appointments to uncover customer and prospects’ needs
  • Accurately forecast your sales pipeline
  • Accurately record all activity in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Participation in market strategy and sales meetings
  • Participation at trade shows/conferences as directed by Manager
  • Participation at annual sales meeting
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on pipeline management
  • Work closely with various departments including Marketing, Product Management and Development, and Customer Service
  • Responsible for completion of other job duties as from time to time assigned

Experience & Background Qualifications:

  • Prior K12 phone and face to face sales experience
  • Success selling to district level curriculum coordinators
  • Proven success with past sales results
  • Successful consultative sales experience
  • Experience with K-12 curriculum companies
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Top Performer with the ability to sell new business and manage subscription renewal business
  • Proficient with CRM, standard software including on-line meeting software, Microsoft Office, and Excel
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to customers

Position Requirements

  • 2+ years of successful K12 sales experience
  • K12 Teacher or Coordinator a plus

This position provides support, service, guidance, and satisfaction to customers, both internal and external that is head and shoulders above others in our industry. This role may be located at our Chester, VT offices, with hybrid or remote arrangement considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer main switchboard and transfer calls to the appropriate person or department
  • Check daily voicemails and distribute to appropriate personnel
  • Send out daily report with status of employee paid time off
  • Setup and maintain all employee access to products
  • Setup and manage customer trial access to our products including product setup, configuration, and authentication
  • Setup and maintain product access for publishing partners
  • Support Sales team with customer trials
  • Maintain system information, including customer, product and CRM maintenance information
  • Maintain Order Entry packages including new packages, updates and audits
  • Track and manage inventory of office supplies and submit purchase order requests as required.
  • Distribute incoming orders and renewals to Customer Service team for fulfillment
  • Distribute incoming customer support surveys and emails to appropriate personnel

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED. Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills and history of demonstrating initiative

NewsBank’s web applications help a broad range of users and partners worldwide to access that content and leverage it for their needs, be it academic research, genealogical research, philanthropic giving, tracking trends, or simply keeping up with the news. Our team collaborates with a wide variety of other teams and individuals at NewsBank, including Product Owners, User Experience, QA/QC, API, Technical Operations, and more. Qualifications/Experience

  • Has at least 5 years’ professional experience in web application software development.
  • Works and communicates effectively with other developers and development leadership.
  • Works extremely well with other related teams, both technical and non-technical – Product Owners, User Experience, Customer Service, Marketing, Quality Control, Technical Operations, etc.
  • Has expertise with JavaScript/TypeScript development ecosystems, specifically Node.js, React, and associated tools.
  • Experience with building and maintaining GitLab CI/CD pipeline processes is desired.
  • Experience with large scale information retrieval is a plus.
  • Experience with educational software or library software is a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience using PHP and Drupal is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
