Location: Chester, VT

This position is responsible for managing the administrative details required to keep NewsBank’s main facility, conference center and residential housing operating efficiently. Ensures office supplies and paper goods are stocked, telephone lists are kept current, kitchens are fully equipped. Responsible for coordinating scheduling of meetings in the conference center and managing the details of meetings (room set-up; catering, etc.).

Responsible for coordinating scheduling of residential housing, and ensures all properties are properly supplied and furnished and that appearance of properties is maintained. Remains available for those who need directions or service after hours. Provides administrative support for executives including minute-taking, coordinates sales meeting details and transportation arrangements, and coordinates shipping of show materials to sales conferences.

Requires prior hospitality experience, prior office management experience, Microsoft Office skills, strong coordination/organizational skills and attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be available as needed after hours for guests and/or management needs.

The role of the Sales & Marketing Assistant is to support the execution of a wide range of marketing tactics and initiatives that align with the strategic sales and marketing plans of NewsBank, inc.

In this part-time role (up to 29 hours/week), the Sales & Marketing Assistant will work closely with both the Sales and Marketing teams, as well as various company departments, to implement effective sales and marketing initiatives with the goal of driving business. The Sales & Marketing Assistant will join a dynamic team, committed to connecting with customers and prospects in the library market to meet the research needs of students and patrons. This position reports to the Digital Marketing Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for marketing requests and special projects as needed
  • Manage daily administrative tasks to ensure the Marketing department runs smoothly
  • Assist with organizing trade shows and other company events, including large meeting coordination

Responsible for overseeing the upkeep and safe operation of all NewsBank buildings and grounds including the main plant, conference center and residential housing. Also responsible for overseeing vehicle fleet maintenance and upkeep, and for hiring contingent workforce of drivers for airport runs to the Hartford, Boston and Manchester airports. Fills in as a driver if needed.

Supervises an 8-person maintenance and facilities staff responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of buildings. Oversees the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and door access/security. Ensures that VOSHA and other required standards are followed and that staff receive annual required training, and remains up to date on State and Federal regulations that impact this role and the work performed at this location. Negotiates with contractors hired for expertise in safety, plumbing, heating, cooling, electrical, Print shop, landscaping, snow removal and other specialties. Secures quotes for approval and oversees contractors. Manages budgets for all areas of responsibility and continually looks for efficiencies and opportunities to reduce expense.

Requires 5 years’ experience in building/property maintenance; Bachelor’s degree from four-year college, preferably in Business and 2-4 years related management and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of 5 years of prior supervisory experience; familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of building and property maintenance; ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals and ability to effectively present and respond to groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Working closely with our in-house Creative Services team, this process-oriented individual will be responsible for formatting and scheduling a variety of email efforts. Position will report to V.P. of Creative Services and will work with a diverse group of individuals, including marketing stakeholders, graphic designers, and web developers.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Build/deploy ad hoc and automated email campaigns for Readex.com and NewsBank.com
  • Set up, maintain and troubleshoot triggered campaigns, templates and key program assets
  • Code emails using techniques such as dynamic content, mobile queries, and web tracking
  • Manage email production process, changes and trafficking requests
  • Coordinate scheduling with production assets and provide real-time direction to partners and team members
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders across all stages of campaign development from planning to deployment
  • Manage a brisk, demanding workload which maintaining high standards for established brands
  • Communicate issues impacting production-cycle dependencies and deadlines
